Job Description

We are currently recruiting for a Assistant Controller. This role will be responsible for executing and coordinating general accounting and related activities and overseeing accounting procedures and various tasks such as:  Financial statements, cashflow, projections, AP/AR reconciliation, asset management, job costing, cheque approval, payroll approvals and system analysis.
 
Responsibilities: 
 
  • Preparation and Distribution of Monthly financial performance, including all supporting documentation
    • managing AR aging within 45 days outstanding
    • develop daily/weekly/monthly metrics for financial measurement of performance
  • Capturing all financial triggers to ensure all revenue and expenses are accrued correctly
  • Ensure reconciliations are completed and analyzed in a timely manner
  • Execute financial analysis on the monthly statements to ensure accuracy
  • Assist with the annual financial audit of the company
  • Assist with the process of establishing and monitoring the annual budget
  • Manage and coordinate monthly P&L forecasting
  • Responsible for overseeing accounting procedures, internal controls (implementing, monitoring, enhancing), and financial database management
  • Manage and coach the Reporting, Cash Management, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable
  • Manage of all of the company’s fiscal and government conformity related responsibilities
  • Working with Corrigo, dealing with large corporate clients and direct supplier invoicing
  • Understanding accounting interfaces to allow invoicing within our current GL system
 Qualifications: 
 
  • University Degree or College Diploma in Accounting or related field required
  • Working towards Accounting designation required
  • 3-5 years experience required
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and overall comfort with technology
  • Strong analytical skills, problem solving capabilities, and planning and organizational skills
  • Previous management experience and proven skills managing a team effectively
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
