Job Description

The London Children’s Museum is looking for an outgoing, fun, and enthusiastic Visitor Experience Animator (VEA) who has no hesitation approaching families and engaging in playful experiences. Working with the Visitor Experiences staff, the VEA will contribute to the development and delivery of outstanding child and familycentred programs and events. Position(s): Part-time, hourly position which may provide 15-30 hours per week until June 30, 2023. Shifts may include daytime, weekend, evening, and holidays based on availability. Weekday availability is an asset.

Compensation: $16.00/hour

Tasks & Responsibilities 
  • Provide exceptional visitor experiences and customer service to all London Children’s Museum guests.
  • Demonstrate a visitor-centred focus by maintaining visibility on the floor and providing face-to-face interactions.
  • Deliver high-quality, fun, and engaging programs including daily public programs, birthday parties, special events, & day camps.
  • Participate in community outreach programs.
  • Provide unique experiences for visitors using artifacts, star shows, and demonstrations.
  • Deliver fun and engaging day camp programming.
  • Be a helpful, positive, and engaged member of the London Children’s Museum staff team.

Skills & Attributes

  • Enthusiasm for hands-on, experiential learning.
  • Demonstrated experience and interest in facilitating family-centred programming in a museum setting.
  • Interest or expertise in the area(s) of heritage, art, history, culture, science, and/or education.
  • Previous experience working with children and families.
  • Desire to work in a child and family-centred environment.
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to work both independently and with a team.
  • Strong verbal, interpersonal, and written communication skills.
