Job Description

Reporting to the New Homes Administrator, the Estimator is responsible for estimating construction costs of residential building units according to approved plans and specifications, completing the estimates promptly to maximize sales potential and meet established
delivery dates.

Responsibilities Include:

• Review estimates, plans, specifications and purchase orders ensuring consistency and accuracy. 
• Provide detailed custom quotations to sales team for customer requests, with the objective of returning quotations within 24 hours.
• Establish budgets, and modify specific lot budgets to incorporate purchaser changes.
• Develop catalogue of options with up to date pricing to increase point of sale customer service. 
• Meet with sales associates as required, to facilitate customer requests and changes.
• Assist in the processing and approval of invoices from subcontractors and suppliers for all material, equipment and services used on projects, monitoring costs to ensure budget adherence. 
• Assist in the approval of all purchase orders, invoices, awarding contracts to sub-contractors for all material, equipment and services used by the business unit.


Experience & Qualifications:

• Strong customer service orientation and demonstrated professionalism and commitment to quality with 5 years estimating experience in the home building sector.
• Excellent communication skills, applies good problem solving and conflict resolution abilities.
• Proficiency with Newstar or other industry computer database is preferred, with above average skills in MS Word, Excel and Outlook. Salesforce experience is an asset.
• Proven skill and expertise organizing daily workloads and coordinating sub-trades.
• Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to manage and effectively prioritize a variety of paperwork demands, work processes and multiple projects.
