Summary of position
Jones has an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated, self-driven individual to join our team as a Flexo Press Operator in our Printed Packaging division. This position will be responsible for minimizing downtime and maximizing production while achieving consistent high quality printing on the Flexo presses and other equipment while working with and leading press crews to ensure operation is kept at maximum efficiencies.
Duties and Responsibilities
Experience and Education (diploma, degree, or professional designation):
Basic math, good eye/hand coordination, color perception, decision making/problem solving skills, manual dexterity, good concentration, mechanically inclined, pride in workmanship, and attention to detail.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Operate a press and maintain consistently high quality standards
- Obtain approval on make readies prior to running orders
- Adhere to all customer check procedures
- Ensure good production speed
- Transfer product to proper cages or racks for rewinding
- Mount plates by production and shift scheduling demands
- Maintain sample quality control strips
- Mix or alter ink when necessary
- Keep work area clean at all times
- Accurately charge all phases of make readies, running, wash up time to customer’s account and record total stock footage used
- Complete spoilage reports or CIR sheets stating any problems during run.
Experience and Education (diploma, degree, or professional designation):
- High School Diploma and certificate in flexo printing an asset
- 2-4 years of previous flexo web printing experience preferably within the printing/packaging industry is an asset
- strong technical experience of printing on unsupported materials (films and paper), PS materials and boxboard.
