Job Description

TechAlliance empowers London and Southwestern Ontario’s technology sector. We prepare today’s entrepreneurs to launch new ventures, provide education and networking opportunities to accelerate business growth for small-to-medium enterprises, and serve our 150+ members as advocates for the region’s thriving technology, life sciences and advanced manufacturing companies.
 
We are currently seeking a talented individual to join our Startup Services team as a Business Analyst working exclusively with youth entrepreneurs (ages 18-29).  As a Business Analyst, you will be part of a team of 10 people working closely with entrepreneurs of start-up and early stage technology companies. Reporting to the VP Operations and Startup Services, you will work with other analysts and Entrepreneurs-in-Residence to support organic growth of companies in London and the surrounding communities.
 
Core Responsibilities

- Provide guidance to our clients with respect to developing business plans and their constituent components, such as business propositions, market analysis and strategies, competition analysis, operations, finances, etc.
 
- Provide business analysis to assist clients with development of a business model.
 
- Assist clients in developing specific tools to grow their business, such as cash flow projections, marketing plans, presentations/pitch decks, etc.

- Assist in identifying and accessing sources of funding/grants, including government programs and private sector investors, business plan competitions, etc.

- Provide ongoing support to the VP Operations and Startup Services, Manager, Measured Innovation, Entrepreneurs-in-Residence and other analysts and team members.
 
- Manage communication with active client base, and serve as the main point of contact between clients and the startup services team.

- Assist with the recruitment of new clients by attending events and workshops in a business development capacity.

- Stay abreast of current developments in various technology industries.
  
Qualifications and Minimum Requirements
 
- Undergraduate degree in business or related field
- 2 to 3 years of prior business experience preferred
- Demonstrated leadership abilities
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written
- A good working knowledge of software programs and applications
- Strong organizational and analytical skills
- Ability to provide guidance and direction
- Energy, enthusiasm, and confidence in ones abilities
- A technology background is a definite asset
 
Assets

- Knowledge of Client Relationship Management (CRM) programs (i.e. SalesForce)
- Proven ability to assess business opportunities quickly and efficiently
