At Ontario Plants Propagation Limited, our vision is to be Eastern North America’s premier supplier of greenhouse vegetable transplants.  In order to help us accomplish this goal, we need to hire motivated passionate people that will support our workforce and facilities. With that in mind we are seeking an individual with at least 3 years experience in a warehouse/shipping/receiving supervisory position.  This individual will display highly effective supervisory skills and techniques with hands on commitment to getting the job done.  You must possess strong communication, critical thinking, coordination and problem solving skills.  In this position you will strive to ensure that the daily operations (shipping/receiving) meet and exceed the daily expectations of our customers.

Primary Responsibilities

• Assist and lead a team of warehouse labourers to successfully complete the day to day tasks and meet daily targets
• Clearly communicate daily tasks to the warehouse labourers as directed by the Warehouse Manager
• Recognize workplace problems within the warehouse, report and recommend solutions for escalated issues
• Ensure proper day to day warehouse and truck hygiene is at the highest standard
• Direct and assist in the accurate loading and unloading of tractor trailers
• Lead and/or guide in the receiving and organizational storage of warehouse/greenhouse supplies and inventory
• Assist with and direct others with the delivery of supplies to the greenhouse as well as returning loaded carts ready for shipping to the warehouse
• Assist with the building/adjusting and wrapping of carts for delivery to the customer
• Organize and participate in the support of the warehouse/greenhouse team when needed
• Additional duties to be added as required

• Experience operating/licensed on Forklift, Skyjack & tractor
• Physical tasks include bending, lifting 20-30lbs, twisting & standing for extended periods
• Detailed attention to safety in the workplace

 
Commitment

• Full time hours - to be scheduled by Shipping Manager
• Ability to work night shift during peak periods
• Able to work long hours including Saturdays, Sunday, and holidays when required
• Start times vary significantly during busy times, flexibility is a must

Wage

• $15 per hour average 45 hours per week
• Full Benefits after waiting period
