Production Supervisor (Day)
This is a great opportunity for an individual who is interested in learning a new industry and whom has evolved from an entry level leader to a intermediate role with a supportive environment and the opportunity to growth within the company long term. 

Responsibilities include:

• To interact with the Operations Manager to plan and assign work tasks to a small group of metal fabrication employees.
• Monitor the schedule and adjust as required to ensure the customer needs are achieved.
• To act as a coach and hands on mentor to the employee group.
• Ensure quality is achieved.
• Interact with Engineering to obtain change requests and implement process improvements
• To analyse the manufacturing process, identify areas for efficiency improvements and put continuous improvements in place.
• Encourge employees to identify cost efficiencies and empower the implementation of employee ideas and concepts.
• Complete audit inspections or work in progress to ensure compliance to manufacturing drawings
• Oversee preventative maintenance schedules

  Qualities we seek:
 

• Must be a hands on individual whal has had approximately 5 to 7 years experience leadership experience in a welding/metal fabrication environment that is comfortable with short runs.  (non automotive background an asset).  This is a small nonautomotive shop with a team environment and common sense approach to leadership and manufacturing.
• Hands on knoweldge of a short run shop with a great deal of set up work on the brake presses and fit-up work in the welding department.  (limited jigs and fixtures)
• Knowledge of carbon, aluminum and stainless steel materials with a wide range fo thicknesses
• Natural leadership qualities with a mentoring/coaching outlook on employee motivation
• Working knowledge of CNC Brake Presses, MIG & TIG, powder coating in addition to laser and water jet cutting an asset
• Demonstrated collaborative approach in interacting with multiple departments (Engineering, Quality, Sales and Purchasing) in order to achieve the production requirements
• Willingness to work overtime on Saturday mornings as required and provide backup coverage on the afternoon shift for vacation leaves
