Our client in London, Ontario is currently seeking a full-time Import Specialist on a permanent basis. Our client is one of Canada’s largest integrated distributors of products for the construction industry. They offer products in the distinct categories of plumbing and heating, waterworks, industrial, oilfield supply and HVAC. They strive to satisfy the needs of their customers and are staffed by a customer service driven team of professionals who pride themselves on the support they provide.

Duties (may include and not limited to):

• Manage all aspects of import transactions
• Maintain import policies, procedures and controls to ensure compliance with CBSA regulations
• Reconcile and maintain relationships with customs broker and accounts
• Assist with creating documents for exports
• Obtain NAFTA certificates from vendors
• Special projects and other duties as requested

Requirements:

• Degree or Diploma in business, customs & logistics, international trade, CITT and/or CCS designation
• Excellent knowledge of HS tariffs, Canadian and US customs regulations, NAFTA and other trade agreements, importing and exporting
• Bright, enthusiastic, enjoys problem solving and thrives in a fast paced environment
• Strong sense of customer satisfaction, communication and works well in team environments
• Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Outlook
• Self-starter with the ability to work effectively in a team environment or individually
• Detail knowledge of operational procedures regarding importing/exporting business will be given priority

Hours: Monday to Friday, daytime hours 
Compensation: $39,000-45,000 annually
