Job Description

We are a custom metal fabricating and welding business providing high quality steel (carbon and stainless) and aluminum fabrications for off road equipment and defence industries, with a high commitment to quality and safety.

We currently have openings for:

Brake Press Operator - day shift:  Individual will operate Brake Press to implement required bending according engineering drawings.  Duties include identify the required bend by reading and interpreting the technical drawings, determine the suitable machine for the job and the necessary punch and die pieces required and prepare the machine accordingly, perform measurements and mathematics as required to determine suitable process/parts for the job, program CNC machine with required information, manually set up mechanical brake machine, verify completed part against specifications, using square, calipers, measuring tape, etc., perform routine maintenance on machines, operate overhead crane to move parts as required, operate forklift to move parts about the facility, complete 100% First Article Inspections to verify all dimensions and specifications of the first piece from a new part order, accurately track and document job status in MRP software and on Work Traveler, perform all tasks in accordance with Quality (ISO) manual, contribute to the overall cleanliness of the production floor and assist others as required, conform to all health and safety standards and utilize all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times, other duties as assigned. 
Minimum required Qualifications and Skills:  Completion of Grade 12, forklift certified (or capacity to operate a forklift), must successfully complete crane training, ability to apply mathematical analysis to determine suitable machine set up, ability to use basic measuring devices (square, calipers, verniers, measuring tape).
Rate:  $18-$20/hr depending on experience, Health, Dental and Group RRSP benefits.
 
Welder - day and afternoon shift:  Individual to perform welding in a custom metal fabrication shop, conforming to all job specifications, welding and safety standards.  Duties include read and interpret technical diagrams to understand the required weld, operate welding equipment to perform shielded metal arc welding (SMAW), gas metal arc welding (GMAW) and gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW) processes, use grinders and sanders as required for finishing to create product free of burrs, evaluate final product for conformance with drawing and specifications, operate overhead crane to move parts as required, complete 100% First Article Inspections to verify all dimensions and specifications of the first piece from a new part order, accurately track and document job status in MRP software and on Work Traveler, perform all tasks in accordance with Quality (ISO) manual, contribute to the overall cleanliness of the production floor and assist others as required, conform to all health and safety standards and utilize all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times, other duties as assigned.
Minimum required Qualifications and Skills:  Completion of Grade 12, successful completion and maintenance of CWB Weld ticket, ability to read and interpret technical drawings, ability to tolerate wearing a respirator, ability to use basic measuring devices (square, calipers, verniers, measuring tape), must successfully complete Crane training.
Wage - $18-$22/hr depending on experience.  Health, Dental and Group RRSP benefits.
