Overview of the Position
Reporting to the Director of Planning, the Contract Planner’s primary responsibilities may include development control and/or planning policy work. Development control work would include the processing and reviewing development applications made under the Planning Act and other legislation, and preparing and presenting professional planning advice, research, reports and recommendations to elected councils and committees. Planning policy work would include special projects such as official plan and zoning by-law reviews. The Planner will work for the County of Middlesex and may also provide planning services to local municipalities as assigned, which may include having office days with our Municipalities. It is noted that as a result of the current COVID-19 Pandemic our working arrangements are flexible and at present include a combination of working from home and working from offices. This is subject to change as a result of Provincial Government direction, health authority direction, and/ or policy changes implemented by the County.
