Job Description: The Social Work Intern will work with a Registered Social Worker to research and assess client needs, non-legal needs and assist in obtaining life skill needs. This is a CSJ funded position requiring applicants to be born after May 1, 1992.

Job Description: The Social Work Intern will work with a Registered Social Worker to research and assess client needs, non-legal needs and assist in obtaining life skill needs. This is a CSJ funded position requiring applicants to be born after May 1, 1992.
Position Responsibilities:
- Attend interviews with clients to assess needs, particularly non-legal needs
- Assist in the assessment of client needs
- Assist in determining sources of referral for clients in non-legal areas
- Work with referral agencies to assist the clients in addressing such matters
- After an assessment of client need, assist clients in obtaining information, goods or service that will be useful to them in addressing their specific needs
- Assist in counselling clients with respect to matters such as life skill needs
- Ensure all work undertaken on behalf of clients in appropriately documented and reports are filed in the client file. Update the staff responsible for the file on an ongoing and regular basis
- Attend meetings, public workshops or forums associated with the agency mandate
- At least 2nd year of a Social work program or related college/university program
- Knowledge of London area resources and social programs an asset
- Demonstrated logical thinking and problem-solving ability
- Superior writing skills
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail
