Givens Engineering Inc. is in immediate need of an Administrative Assistant for full time employment (40 hours per week). We are a manufacturer of custom material-handling machinery.  This position is support staff for our Engineers and Managers.  You must have working  accounting knowledge  and have intermediate experience with Microsoft Office Excel. 

Givens Engineering Inc, located on Veterans Parkway in London, creates manipulators, cranes and special-purpose machinery. We're in need of an office assistant with strong accounting skills. Experience is very valued, but not absolutely necessary. Microsoft Excel skills are an absolute must. A college diploma or university degree in a business or accounting field would be valued, but not absolutely necessary.

The work is full-time and permanent. We offer a full benefits package after 3 months and pension plan after 1 year. We value a long-term relationship that will continue for years, starting with extensive training and gradually working toward increasingly challenging projects. The primary work is spreadsheet management surrounding the beginning and ending of projects, followed up by a range of accounting functions.

We manufacture everything we sell right here in our large London shop, employing engineers, accountants, salesmen, technologists, welders, electricians, machinists, assemblers and millwrights. We're Canada's largest manufacturer of manipulators and one of the largest manufacturers of light cranes in Canada. In the summer of 2016, we passed the 40-employee mark, last summer, we passed 50 and this summer, we will pass 60. Education

-College Diploma in accounting, business, secretarial or equivalent

Experience

-office experience is not absolutely necessary

-experience with Excel is definitely necessary; creation and alteration of spreadsheets is routine

-experience with Quickbooks or Simply Accounting would be valued

Work Activity

-Excel spreadsheet work with the beginning and ending of projects

-entry of invoices, and other data into Quickbooks

-creation of invoices to our US sister operation

-timesheet entry

-photographing our equipment

-tracking of sales activity

-many other office duties
