Job Description
Our client located in London is looking to add a Material Planner to their team on a contract basis.
Position Summary: To plan production material for on-time support, minimize shortages and maintain target inventory levels through effective use of planning parameters.
Responsibilities Include:
- Review Capacity demands for department and prioritize requirements to the production floor
- Plan production material for on-time support for production; Plan production activity
- Release shop orders
- Monitor production activity; Be proactive and focus on support
- Minimize shortages and maintain target inventory levels
- Maintain departmental metrics
- Participate in regular dispatch meetings and bottleneck management
- Follow-up on orders with suppliers
- Follow-up with customers and understand their needs
- Provide ETA;s on backorders to Production
- Monitor capacity and loads according to plan
- Maintain SAP system accuracy
- Projects as assigned
Skills & Experience Required:
- Very strong MS Excel and ERP/MRP system skills
- Competency using other computer based programs such as Word, Lotus Notes, Power Point
Skills & Experience Preferred:
- Experience in a Material Planning role in a Manufacturing Environment
- Planning in a low volume, highly complex BOM environment
- Experience in mechanical, electrical, electronics, welding or manufacturing environment is an asset
- received or working towards APICS Certification or CPIM
- Spanish or Portuguese language skills an asset
