Job Description

 Design Group Staffing has an immediate opening for Quality Technician for a heavy industry equipment manufacturer in Southwestern Ontario. Please submit resume to agleam@dg.ca with salary expectations.
 
Primary Objective: Reporting to the General Manager, you will be responsible for maintaining the quality and reliability of products and services in a manufacturing environment.
 
Responsibilities:
Promote quality achievement and performance improvement throughout the organization, while providing support to  develop, implement, communicate and maintain a quality plan to bring  the company quality systems and policies into compliance with ISO 9001 quality system requirements
Effectively interact with production and engineering teams to maintain product supply and help introduce new products
Set up and maintain control and documentation procedures
Work with purchasing to establish quality requirements from external suppliers.
Ensure tests and procedures are properly understood, carried out and evaluated and the product modifications are investigated if necessary
Supervise technical staff in carrying out tests and check sand unite internal staff , driving the group to plan, formulate and agree to quality procedures
Persuade reluctant staff to change their way of working to incorporate quality methods
Manage and maintain the quality inspection and product release programs for incoming and in-process materials and components, processes and finished goods
Formulate and manage the development and implementation of goals, objectives, policies, procedures and systems pertaining to the QA/QC; set QA compliance objectives and ensure targets are achieved
Define quality procedures in conjunction with operating staff, liaise with customers, auditors and ensure corrective action and compliance with customer's specifications
Implement and maintain the NCR system for non-conforming conditions; maintain and monitor the ECR/ECN system
Create, maintain and organize quality records on all products and ensure access to  quality documents are available on the shop floor for each project

Qualifications:
Mechanical Engineering Technician/Technologist Diploma
3-5 years Quality Inspection experience in a manufacturing environment
Welding knowledge an asset
