Job Description
Position Purpose
Provides direct field support and upgrades at various locations across Ontario and Quebec.
Principal Accountabilities
1. Perform system upgrade under the direction of Senior Engineer.
2. Produce daily report of system problems, operation issues and track resolution
3. Implement commissioning and calibration plan
4. Commission and calibrate Asset Tracking System as part of on-going maintenance procedures
5. Document system requirement and coordinate with engineering department to produce As-Built
6. Document and implement all software maintenance, patches and problem resolution.
7. Re-calibrate system to optimize performance
Other Requirement:
• Travel Requirement for Ontario and Quebec (100% travel)
Education and Experience
• B.Sc. Degree, electrical engineering preferred communication stream OR diploma in Electrical technology or engineering
• Radio Frequency Theory, Application and Trouble Shooting – A strong asset
• Proven leadership, communication, time management and technical troubleshooting skills.
• Knowledge security systems, system integration, network topology and Virtual Environment
• Technical writing skills to support documentation of problem resolution / installation improvements.
Product and System Knowledge Requirement:
System Hardware and Operating System
• DELL/HP/IBM Servers, Workstations
• Microsoft Server platform - Staging, Installation, Migration
• Active Directory Implementation and Maintenance
Microsoft SQL Server (An Asset BUT not Require)
• Backup and Recovery
• Query Design
VIRTUALIZATION (Requirement from a Maintenance perspective)
• VM Ware Workstation, ESX, Virtual Infrastructure
• Snapshot Configuration
PROTOCOLS
• Bus topology design and configuration; routers, gateways
• Traffic Calculation
• Traffic and Bandwidth Analysis
• Troubleshooting
NETWORKING ETHERNET (Requirement from a Maintenance perspective)
• OSI Hardware Design and Installation
• Configuration
• VLAN
• VPN, SSH Tunneling
• WIFI
• NAS/SAN
