Job Summary

The quality engineer is responsible for being the main contact for all quality related issues at the customers, and are responsible for tracking all internal and external quality issues.  It is the quality engineers main job function to improve quality of all parts, as well as root cause and provide corrective actions for all quality issues at the customer.  
 

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Review and submit PPAP; measure parts, facilitate testing, ensure all required forms are filled out properly, review parts with supplier/customer, submit required paperwork
  • Respond to OEM and customer visits; update all quality related documents, as well as audit documents, update DCR’s
  • Judgment calls; cosmetic and dimensional issues, verify parts in the lab, review with the supplier and internal customer
  • Respond to quality issues; perform 5P/validate accuracy with team members, coordinate changes and complete any required administrative work 
  • Responsible for performing audits when needed
  • Constant communication with Vuteq's customer to ensure quality requirements are met
  • Develop and maintain quality standards; create TS standards/inspection standards
  • APQP and PPAP planning; review schedule, identify critical issues, prepare paperwork, work directly with quality assurance representatives 
  • Review customer websites for updated quality standards and training
  • Responsible for ensuring that all documentation is up to date and liaise necessary changes to PFMEA and control plan

 

Job Qualifications

Education

  • Successful completion of a minimum 2-4 year post secondary program; engineering or mathematics degree considered relevant
  • Quality Assurance certification 

Experience

  • 1-2 years of engineering experience
  • 1-2 years of problem solving/root cause analysis experience
  • 1-2 years of OEM experience (automotive)
  • 1-2 years of experience working in Tier 1 automotive manufacturing setting

  • Maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to adapt to changing demands of production from customers and team member issues
  • Actively listen to fellow team members about concerns or issues that arise
  • Ability to effectively manage a small group of professionals to achieve shared and personal goals
  • Strong interpersonal skills; able to speak in front of groups of people, and ability to effectively communicate information with varying levels of individuals (both team members and management groups)
  • Ability to show versatility and resourcefulness when problem solving
  • Ability to organize priorities based on deadlines and importance of tasks
  • Manage time efficiently while working on several different tasks at once

  • Must have a valid driver’s license
