Position Summary
Reporting to the Director, Information Technology, this position is responsible for overseeing the IT Infrastructure group. Collaboration with all facets of IT is required daily. This role is responsible to ensure that Buckland IT infrastructure is functioning to its optimal capacity at all times. This position holds overall responsibilities for the IT infrastructure service, design and support functions for all locations of Buckland. He/she is responsible for developing and managing the teams within the Infrastructure Group.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage technical team of IT specialists (infrastructure and systems)
- Responsible for weekly and monthly executive reporting of IT activities
- Responsible for resource planning, budgeting and forecasting
- Responsible for mentoring, coaching and training
- Manage the installation, monitoring, maintenance, support, and optimization of all systems, software, and communication links
- Coordination of technical projects and vendors
- Planning, design, procurement and installation of server and database hardware, software and related equipment
- Responsible for system security and ensuring update processes are controlled through automation and defined processes to limit failures, issues and human error
- Management of backup and restore environment for all critical sources of data.
- Manage hardware, software and network availability (99.9%+ of time on 24/7 basis, excluding scheduled downtime
- Assist in the creation and implementation of policies, standards and procedures related to data retention, server availability and maintenance windows, and infrastructure updates.
The ideal candidate will bring:
- Successfully completed two- or three-year Computer Science Degree/Diploma or related technical courses focusing on the required technologies outlined above.
- 5-7 years hands on experience as a technical senior or lead team member responsible for support of the technologies outlined above.
- 5-7 years hands on experience as a technical senior or lead team member responsible for managing projects involving the technologies outlined above.
- Additional experience in any of the following an asset; Linux, Unix, and EDI
- Required Technologies
- Networking involving multiple platforms, Cisco/Azure/MPLS/SDWAN etc.
- WAN, Routing, Switching and Remote Access
- VMWare vSphere 5.x or newer
- VMWare Horizon View 5.x or newer
- Microsoft Exchange and SQL Server
- Windows 2012/2008/2003 (Active Directory, IIS, file servers, etc.)
- Microsoft Azure, AWS, or similar
- Hybrid O365 – AD environment
- Backup and recovery software and solutions
- VOIP & PBX telephone systems
