A growing automotive manufacturing company, located South East of London is currently recruiting an Operations / Plant Manager. This is a permanent position.

A growing automotive manufacturing company, located South East of London is currently recruiting an Operations / Plant Manager. This is a permanent position.
Position Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the successful Leadership and Management of a Tier 1 & 2 automotive manufacturing plant
- Coordinate production, quality and maintenance resources to achieve the related goals and objectives of the business unit
- Participate with the leadership team, in developing a vision and plan for the business unit to carry out the strategic direction for the plant
- Oversee the efficient and effective day-to-day operation of the plant, ensuring that all applicable standards and regulations, both internal and external, are being met
- Monitor productivity and quality, guiding or delegating corrective actions, ensuring on time delivery and follow up on results
- Liaise with other departments and business units to ensure effective utilization of resources and optimal performance of the plant, identify and resolve all production related problems
- Ensure customer requirements are met, problems solved and employees trained
- Work with the leadership, operations team and other teams to prepare comprehensive operational and capital budgets
- Support and participate in the Continuous Improvement Process and maintain a C.I. plan; lead projects and deliver cost reductions
- Manage the staffing plan for the plant and ensure that staffing activities happen in a timely manner
- Monitors health, safety and environmental practices, ensuring observance of legislated regulations and organizational rules
Candidate Qualifications:
- Post-secondary degree/diploma in a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 5+ years operational management experience in an automotive manufacturing environment, casting, foundry or machining background an asset
- Direct knowledge of manufacturing methodologies including inventory control, control of required labour levels and equipment utilization.
- Excellent communication skills for development of employees and interaction with internal and external customers and suppliers.
