Part-time Professor – Production Welding (MAN 201600289)
School of Applied Science and Technology

Location:  London
Employment Group:  Faculty
Hours of Work per Week:  Up to 6 hours per week         
Closing Date:  Open Until Filled
 
Note:  This is a part-time Faculty position (up to 6 hours per week) starting January 4, 2017 and ending April 22, 2017.
 
The School of Applied Science and Technology is now accepting resumes for a Part-time Professor - Production Welding.
 
GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS
  • Demonstrated leadership and strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to relate effectively to a wide variety of learners
  • Strong technical/computer skills and familiarity with educational technologies
  • A strong commitment to academic excellence and student success
  • Knowledge of curriculum design and student assessment are assets   
TECHNICAL QUALIFICATIONS
  • Post-secondary 2 year diploma in related field
  • Minimum 5 years of current and relevant industrial work experience
  • An equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered 
    Qualified instructors must be able to provide both theoretical and practical instruction in: welding shop safety, Shielded Metal Arc Welding, Gas Metal Arc Welding, Gas Tungsten Arc Welding, Oxy-Fuel and Plasma cutting.
The successful candidate must be competent to teach:
  • 1. How to program and operate a robotic work cell (ABB).
    2. Set-up and operation of gas metal arc welding for spray and pulse transfer.
    4. Set-up and operation of gas tungsten arc welding equipment for aluminum welding.
    5. Weld quality control and inspection procedures.
    6. Design jigs and fixtures for production welding operations.
    7. Calculations for welding costs.
    8. Set-up and operation of resistance welding equipment.
     
While transcripts are not required for the interview, they are mandatory prior to any offer of employment.
