ZTR Control Systems is currently looking for a Director, Engineering and Technical Services to join our dynamic company! You will interact with teams across the entire organization in order to deliver exceptional products, industry solutions and after-market services to our customers and partners around the globe.

The skills + experience + qualifications essential to the Director, Engineering and Technical Services role at ZTR are:

 Accountabilities:

• Manage the R&D team, including interfacing with departmental management, driving R&D schedules and budgets and ensuring that ZTR’s next generation of products and services deliver exceptional value to the industry.
• Lead the Engineering Applications department by maximizing performance and overseeing the development of the applications engineering and project management teams.
• Direct the activities and performance of ZTR’s technical services team, ensuring that all after-market and project support functions are delivered in an efficient manner, while exceeding customer expectations for service, building on ZTR’s strong reputation in the industry.
• Develop the management and leadership skills of the organization through leadership activities, performance management, coaching and mentorship.
• Work in collaboration with the commercial, project management and other corporate level teams to drive business results within the Rail Division; Must have the ability to work comfortably across organizational boundaries including ZTR’s other operating divisions.
• Work closely with Corporate to enhance and build upon our innovative culture within the teams.
• Experience in leading special projects related to product development and customer deliverables.
• As a senior member of the management team, participate in and provide leadership related to business planning activities and strategic initiatives.
• Attend relevant industry conferences and committee meetings and represent ZTR as a speaker exemplifying our industry leadership
• Demonstrates ability to manage assignments over tight time frames with little intervention.
• Strong attention to technical details, highly entrepreneurial, creative, open-minded, persistent, highly collaborative and passion for and understanding of current and future customer needs.
• Participate in and/or Lead technical aspects of larger tenders and global RFPs.

Relevant Experience and Qualifications:
 
 

• 10+ Years of Progressive Leadership in a Technical or Engineering Environment.  Exceptional leadership, coaching and management skills are a must.
• Professional Engineering designation (P.Eng) highly desirable (or other equivalent technical experience)
• HBA, MBA, CMA, PMP or other professional designation preferred.
• Technically savvy with previous experience in the Railway industry or other industrial experience with engineered control system solutions and products.
• Strategic thinker with strong project management and organizational skills.
• Ability, desire and interest in traveling internationally (travel is anticipated at less than 10%)
