Our In-house Collections Team

 

Our Collections Team (30 to 40) using the latest technology, contacts prospective customers to sell repayment solutions on their existing debt.  This requires a skill set of positive customer service skills, assertive negotiation techniques and the ability to create and sell solutions in order to determine the best course of action on each account to meet monthly revenue targets.

 

Collection Generalist Job Description

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • To manage inbound and outbound telephone calls associated with file pools that are shared among all Collection Generalists (CGs), primarily via predictive dialer technology
  • Contact customers within the Mid & Low segments of AKAI’s inventory to negotiate and sell repayment solutions on outstanding accounts through an automated dialer system, as well as some manual dialing
  • Through the effective application of sales training; sell repayment solutions that create a win/win solution for both the customer and AKAI while keeping in mind potential revenue and associated costs
  • Utilize effective probing questions, objection handling and negotiation skills with customers to close deals
  • Meet established revenue, performance and quality targets on a monthly basis
  • Verify and update account information once contact has been made with the right party
  • Manage all monthly payers and follow-up as necessary to minimize defaulted arrangements
  • Schedule accounts for timely follow-up within the host system
  • Move accounts to the appropriate location depending on the customer’s needs and outcome of the call
  • Provide weekly forecasts to the Operations Supervisor
  • Use all available tools to complete trace work on files that have no good contact information. Once the customer is located negotiate and set up payment arrangements in accordance with AKAI’s product menu
  • Attend, participate and leverage training/coaching as provided by AKAI
  • Stay current on applicable trends, technologies and legislation  

Education/Experience Required

 

  • Grade 12 High School Diploma
  • Post-secondary education in a related field an asset (business, legal, credit)
  • Previous collections experience an asset
  • Previous sales experience in a high volume, metric driven, transactional environment 

Additional Skills Required

 

  • Sales hunter disposition; a competitive individual motivated to achieve additional compensation through sales success
  • Customer focused
  • Able to multi-task in a fast paced, ever-changing environment
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written), fluent in English, a 2nd language is an asset
  • Strong organizational and decision making abilities
  • Computer literate:  demonstrated ability to navigate computer software and the internet, strong keyboarding skills 

AKAI collection employees are required to work a combination of

                               day, evening and Saturday shifts
