PwC Service Delivery Center (SDC):
The SDC in London, Ontario and provides tax return preparation and other compliance services in support of our Canadian national practice. Using technology, standardized processes, and best practices, we deliver the highest quality services to our clients. The SDC is a key driver of the growth of our practice and the establishment of this facility will create many important positions. The Opportunity: Tax Specialist
Based out of London, the Tax Specialist is responsible for ensuring the quality of deliverables and monitoring compliance with all processes and procedures. You will act as the key liaison between the client relationship and your SDC team. You are responsible to coach and work with your team to submit a completed return to the engagement Partner. You’ll be responsible for the initial review of personal tax and corporate tax returns. This includes identification of errors and/or missing information, along with determining client follow-up if necessary. As the SDC services all Canadian time zones, we are looking for individuals who are open and available for work between the hours of 8:00am EST and 8:00pm EST.
(Specific shifts may vary, weekend work and Overtime will be necessary during peak seasons)

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

Perform quality reviews of team members’ work and provide immediate constructive feedback when required. Depending on prior experience, review may include:
Canadian and/or US and state personal income tax returns;
Canadian Federal/Provincial tax returns for corporations;
Financial statements & memos to file
Provide effective coaching to Tax Preparer Specialists
First point of contact (client relationship team and your team) for technical and process support related to the execution of work assigned
Serves as backup for additional engagements and projects as required

Experience/Education:

Accounting, tax, or finance college diploma or an equivalent combination of education and/or work experience
2+ years of prior Canadian tax experience
Demonstrated ability utilizing tax tools and resources to assist Tax engagement teams, including tax preparation software such as GOSystems, Prosytems FX, TaxPrep, Profile, Cantax or Turbo Tax
A relevant University Degree would be considered a strong asset

Detail is your middle name; you are well organized and have the ability to work effectively in a fast paced environment under tight deadlines
Grace under pressure; you are the one who always keeps your cool with a “Can-Do” attitude, even as the pace speeds up. You are able to operate within tight deadlines, prioritizing work and multi-tasking no matter what the task or how fast the pace
Exceptional analytical capability is critical, you are able to apply the necessary judgment to ask questions, provide immediate feedback and assess issues as they arise.
You are comfortable working paperless, completing tasks online
You are adaptable and quick to learn new things (tasks, technology etc.), you name it, you are ready for it
Your computing skills are top notch and you are comfortable working with all MS Office products (i.e. Excel)
Speaking French would be an asset but is not a requirement.
