EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATORS
PERMANENT 10 MONTH POSITIONS

CLASSIFICATION: Early Childhood Educators, (Full Day Kindergarten) 10 month positions
RATE OF PAY: $20.09 - 26.27 per hour plus 4% vacation pay
HOURS OF WORK: 6.5 hours per day Monday to Friday between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. (depending on location)
START DATE: 2011 September 6
In collaboration with the Full Day Kindergarten (FDK) Teacher, the Early Childhood Educator (ECE) will plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities that reflect an understanding of the continuum of development for 4 and 5 year olds, for the FDK program. Together with the FDK Teacher, the ECE will observe, monitor and assess the development of the children. The successful candidate, along with the FDK Teacher, will promote and maintain a healthy physical, emotional and social learning environment. Responsibilities may also include providing direction to FDK Assistants, maintaining children’s records and providing opportunities for communication with families in the event an extended day program is implemented.
-a two (2) year Early Childhood Education (ECE) Diploma
-current registration with the College of Early Childhood Educators (CECE)
-current First Aid & CPR certification and immunization prior to start date
-a minimum of one (1) year related experience is required
