Job Description
Program Manager
On behalf of my client in London I am recruiting for an experienced Project Engineer to support a Tier 1 Automotive Manufacturing Facility. This position reports to the Engineering Manager and successful candidates would have 3 to 5 years of experience in Manufacturing facilities in a similar role.This is a fast paced, busy manufacturing environment with heavy focus on reducing manual processes through CNC Machines and Robotics on the production floor. The facility runs 24/7 and has 2 locations as well as a corporate office locally.
Salary is dependent on experience
Must Have Requirements:
- Clear criminal background check is required to work at this facility
- Either: Bachelors Degree in Engineering Discipline with 3 years of Automotive Manufacturing Experience OR Post-Secondary in Engineering (CET or Similar) with 5 Years of Automotive Manufacturing Experience
- Past experience in launches of new products is necessary to success of this role
- Working knowledge in GD&T, APQP, Process Flow, FMEA, Control Plants, Gauge R&Rs, cap studies
- CAD drafting/modelling experience would be an asset
- Knowledge of casting processes and experience in die cast is an asset
- Experience with CNC Machines and Robotics is an asset
- Knowledge and experience with material handling systems
- Ability to travel internationally is required
- Launches of new product in the facility – heavy production expected in late Spring 2019
- Coordinate launch meetings internally and at the customer
- Ensure drawings and specs are received and documented in the system
- Track launch progress to ensure on schedule
- Participate in equipment specs, design, selection, layout, building, and installation
- Coordinate component acquisition for production and sample runs
- Coordinate manufacturing equipment acquisition for production including writing technical specs
- Schedule CI projects for launching new products
- Ensure development and implementation of required documentation and plans for advanced product quality planning including: feasibility reviews, FMEA’s, Control Plan’s, Process sheets etc.
- Launch and support programs: assist in development of quality systems
- Interface directly with customers on Engineering issues and program status
