Job Description

3M is seeking an Industrial Plumber/Steam Fitter for its Manufacturing plant, located in London, ON.   The successful candidate will make an impact by maintaining equipment in our facility.  This role is currently straight day shift, with the expectation of availability for all shifts (weekends and overtime included) to prevent disruption and provide support as issues arise.

 

Main Responsibilities:

  • Lays out, assembles, installs, maintains and repairs piping, fixtures and other components for the supply or disposal of water for any domestic or industrial purpose
  • Connects any appliance that uses water
  • Installs the piping for any process, including the conveyance of gas, or any tubing for a pneumatic or air-handling system
  • Reads and understands design drawings, manufacturers’ literature, and installation diagrams for piping and appliances
  • Installs and maintains instrumentation control systems
  • Ability to trouble shoot Hot water, steam, pneumatic and hydraulic systems

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Plumbing Certificate of Qualification (C of Q) from Ontario College of Trades
  • 2 years of Basic Microsoft Office skills
  • Certified or willing to be certified as required (Working at Heights, Confined Spaces, etc.)

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • ERP experience (SAP preferred)
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Possesses excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • G2 Gas technician certificate (TSSA) an asset
