Job Description

Position:                                 Financial Analyst
Status:                                    Permanent, Full Time
Starting Salary:                      64,983 (Start) to $88,932 (30 months)

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assist the Director of Financial Services with the coordination, planning, and execution of all budget planning initiatives for Operating and Capital Budgets;
  • Provide cost and statistical information, including analysis to support budget development and monitoring;
  • Provide customer service and support to Division Commanders, Branch Commanders, and Budget Managers on financial issues including budget preparation and budget monitoring. This includes financial analysis, forecasting expertise, and analytical support;
  • Review general ledger entries and supporting documentation to ensure that financial transactions recorded are in accordance with policy, procedures, guidelines, generally accepted accounting practices, and legislation;
  • Prepare reports and reconciliations for administrative support and special projects, including grants;
  • Assist with year-end processes and reporting including information required by external auditors and City of London Financial Services;
  • Review and approve journal entries and travel expense claims;
  • Support London Police Service procurement;
  • Confirm that Special Paid Duty amounts are accurately invoiced, received, and that members are paid correctly;
  • Monitor and reconciles balance sheet accounts regularly;
  • Ensure that HST/RST amounts are recorded correctly; and
  • All other duties assigned within the core competencies.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business/Finance
  • CPA is an asset
  • 24 - 36 months pre-employment related experience
  • Advanced Excel skills
Salary: $ 64,983 (Starting) to $88,932 (at 30 months)

Hours of Duty:           Monday to Friday 830-1630 hours
