Under the supervision a professional engineer and senior designers, the successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with the following duties:  writing proposals, developing and evaluating design alternatives, completing and reviewing detailed engineering design calculations, and coordination of drawings with drafting staff.  Candidates would also be expected to meet with clients, contribute to business development, write design reports, develop construction specifications, prepare construction cost estimates, provide contract tendering and administration services and carry out field work including structure condition assessments, field measurements, and construction inspection.

Candidates must be self-starters with the ability to work independently and in a fast-paced team environment.  The successful candidate must possess strong organizational, oral, written communication, and problem solving skills, have an approachable interpersonal style, be prepared for increasing and wide ranging responsibilities.  This individual will possess their Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation and licence in Ontario. Experience with S-Frame, MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint and AutoCAD software is an asset.  Prior experience in a small sized, rural consulting firm with an ownership position would also be looked upon favourably.

The ideal candidate must be a team player and have demonstrated technical competencies and skills in civil engineering or structural engineering with motivation to broaden their experience in the areas of design, construction, project management, operations and supervision within a multi-disciplinary consulting environment. Experience with Municipal Drains under the Drainage Act, R.S.O. 1990, would be viewed favorably.  Our company size allows flexibility, diverse project experiences, and growth opportunities for self-motivated employees.
