Manager, Clinical Services
 
The purpose of this role is to provide professional clinical expertise and leadership in the development, implementation and management of new and existing contracts.  This occurs through an extensive clinical analysis of products that are currently on contract as well as the identification of Clinical Best Practices and potential practice changes that may have an impact through the life cycle of the contract.  Each product/category will have a Clinical Risk Assessment Score assigned and communicated through the Clinical Briefing Note.  The Clinical Risk Assessment is then integrated into all components of the RFP process inclusive of strategy development, clinical scoring, validation, and conversion as part of the risk mitigation process. 

Duties and Responsibilities:
Clinical Manager has an assigned portfolio of contracts for which they retain primary clinical responsibility.  Each Clinical Manager role requires demonstrated acute care clinical expertise and experience within their designated portfolio
Analyze literature searches, clinical research and best practices
  • Clinical risk assessments
  • Vetting for basket inclusion
  • Analysis and classification of products
  • Clinical specifications and evaluation tools (RFP questions)
  • Basket analysis and identification of potential like products for members
Qualifications:
  • University Degree or equivalent (4 years) – Registered Nurse with current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • More than 6 years and up to 8 years – Minimum 3 year’s relevant Acute Care clinical experience. Minimum 2 years relevant progressive healthcare leadership experience
  • Operating Room experience an asset
  • Demonstrated critical thinking and problem solving skills
  • Demonstrated ability to learn and adapt
  • Demonstrated ability to compile relevant research, conduct a review and analysis of said research and provide an executive summary of findings appropriate to identified receiving audience i.e. Clinical and non-clinical
  • Demonstrated team leadership and facilitation skills
  • Excellent business communications skills (active listening, verbal, written, presentation)
  • Demonstrated Project Management/Leadership skills
  • Ability to be self-directed, results oriented with demonstrated attention to detail
  • Conflict resolution skills
  • Organizational and time management skills
  • Knowledge of contract law and Broader Public Sector (BPS) is preferred
  • Knowledge of Healthcare budgeting and/or Hospital based Purchasing/Strategic Sourcing is an asset
  • Demonstrated knowledge in all facets of MS Office and electronic communication
