FINANCE AND PERFORMANCE MANAGER

REPORTING: Chief Financial Officer/Chief Strategy and Performance Officer

POSITION SUMMARY:
TransForm SSO is looking for a Manager to play a key role in the growth and development of the Finance and Performance Measurement Division. This role will be largely responsible for financial management, strategy, growth, and client delivery for TransForm’s growing Finance and Performance Analysis needs. The ideal candidate plays a pivotal role in enhancing TransForm’s internal financial systems and the performance measurement and reporting to internal and external customers via our triple aim scorecard. This role includes working very closely with the three main divisions within TransForm to address key financial budget reporting, performance indicator evaluation and reporting. This role will provide critical analysis and decision support for enhance quality and improved delivery of financial statements as well as cascading scorecards with time bound measures.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: 
This role encompasses management of both the Finance and Performance Analysts. The role requires monitoring and evaluation to inform our member hospitals of the value we deliver to them from the perspective of our organizational commitments as it aligns with our Regular Member Services Agreement. Primary responsibilities of this role also includes: finance management, performance management, analytics, financial analysis and critical thinking, continuous performance improvement monitoring and statistical analysis in order to create and customize reports and data extracts from various databases.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
• University Degree in Mathematics, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, other related discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Professional Accounting Designation (Chartered Accountant, Certified Management Accountant or Certified General Accountant)
• A minimum 8 to 10 years in a management position and at least 5 years experience in a general management/consulting environment or equivalent experience; outstanding conceptual, performance, analytical and presentation skills is required.
• Strong knowledge of legislation governing health care activities in Ontario preferred
• Proven experience and knowledge of finance planning and management
• An exemplary knowledge of electronic spreadsheets and the required attention to detail
• An advanced degree, ideally a Masters in Health Administration or similar
• A strong understanding of supply chain; IT/IM; health and population databases, crystal reporting, power pivot and Microsoft Office applications

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: 
• Provide a comprehensive suite of services to support the CFO, from performance measurement to process outsourcing, through finance and performance analysis management
• Strong knowledge of financial business, objectives and business priorities
• Understanding of hospital stakeholders, client service delivery methodologies and overall issues and priorities within the healthcare sector
• Work with our client's Finance Executives to optimize shareholder value and transform the finance function 
• Manage a diverse team of talented Finance and Performance Analysts while coaching them to their highest potential (motivating, developing and mentoring professional staff)
• Cultivate relationships with clients and possess a strong knowledge in leveraging prevalent methodologies while leading and managing engagements with multi-disciplinary teams
• Analyze and diagnose client business issues to develop and recommend creative solutions
• Drives the forecasting process (weekly, monthly, and long term) by analyzing trends within the businesses and ensuring alignment with business- and corporate-wide objectives
• Maintains confidentiality, accuracy, and attention to detail with a strong skill set in performance management and evaluation
• Develop your expertise in a specialization and your reputation as a business advisor 
• Contribute to practice growth and development 
• Participate in the development and delivery of training programs 
• Document current state finance processes and leverage best practices to create future state finance processes (General Accounting and Close, Consolidate and Report, Procure to Pay, Order to Cash, Decision Support - Management Reporting, Planning, Budgeting and Forecasting, etc.) 
• Assist in the identification of the Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to plan and manage the business utilizing tools such as the Balance Scorecard and/or Enterprise Value Map
• Work with our clients to define Finance Organization and Operating models that may or may not incorporate Shared Services and/or Centers of Expertise
• Develop business cases for business change / transformation that provide both quantitative (e.g., payback, IRR, NPV) and qualitative costs and benefits

TYPICAL PHYSICAL & MENTAL DEMANDS:
• Must be able to sit at a desk for extended period of time
• Must be able to lift 30 pounds on occasion
• Minimal exposure to disagreeable conditions typical of an office position exposed to stress and pressure associated with multiple priorities and deadlines

OTHER CONDITIONS:
• Must be able to travel within the Erie St Clair area on a regular basis
• Must be able to work evenings and weekends when required 
• Must be available to perform other duties as assigned
• Must meet the benchmarked standards and requirements of the job
• Must comply with all company policies and procedures
