Job Summary
 
Plans, coordinates, and directs quality assurance program, which is designed to ensure continuous products consistent with established standards by performing the following duties personally or though subordinate supervisors.
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
 
  • Develops and analyzes statistical data and product specifications to determine present standards and establish proposed quality and reliability expectancy of finished product
  • Formulates and maintains quality assurance objectives and coordinates objectives with production procedures in cooperation with other plant managers to maximize product reliability and minimize costs
  • Directs through coordinators, workers engages in inspection and testing activities to ensure continuous control over materials, facilities, and products
  • Plans, promotes, and organizes training activities related to product quality and reliability
  • Investigates and adjusts customer complaints regarding quality
  • Administration of ISO/TS program at Vuteq
 
Additional Responsibilities
 
  • Lead the development and implementation of Quality Plans and other quality procedures in the APQP process
  • Review and approve validation test plans and results
  • Participate with purchasing in supplier audits
  • Support CI activities to achieve customer and Vuteq quality goals
  • Strong external customer and supplier skills and experience
  • Possess the ability to mentor and improve the skills of the Quality Engineering group
  • Understand the Tier I and OEM relationship and possess the ability to work under stressful conditions at times and effectively multi task and direct a group of team members
 
Job Qualifications
 
Education
  • Diploma/Degree from College or University; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
 Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations
  • ASQ CQE, CQM
 Computer Skills
  • Internet software, project management software, spreadsheet software, word processing software, statistical software
 
Working Conditions
           
Physical Effort and Requirements of this Position
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include color vision, and ability to adjust to focus.
 
Intellectual Activities and Requirements of this Position
Language Skills
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
 
Mathematical Skills
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
 
Reasoning Abilities
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
 
Work Environment
 
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Supervisory Responsibilities
 
  • Directly supervises team members in the Quality Assurance Department
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
