This role is an integral part of the London location with Payroll and HR functional responsibilities. This role is expected to partner with the HR Labour relations team as well as the operations team to ensure Payroll/HR services are effectively delivered. This role is responsible for processing payroll for the London, Jarvis, Spruce Grove and Brampton facilities as well as ensuring compliance with legislative and corporate requirements.This position requires a high level of organization, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in order to meet deadlines.
 
Principal Accountabilities:

50%    Payroll: Responsible for processing payroll for 3 (up to 4) facilities (on different pay frequencies) together with Kronos Time and Attendance software on a weekly basis. Prepare and remit weekly reports, including pension remittances, garnishee and support deductions, Canada savings bonds and labour cost and total hours. Prepare and remit monthly reports, including charity deductions, WSIB, and assured payments. Annual Reports include WSIB year-end summary. Responsible for updating Kronos Time and Attendance software with changes based on the Collective Agreement and/or Business unit policies. Provide information sessions for changes to benefits/pension/time and attendance updates. Train new supervisor on Kronos time and attendance software. Contact for benefits, pension and RSP.
 
25%    Legislative/Organizations Policies and Procedures compliance: Ensuring compliance for all Cargill HR policies and federal or provincial employment and labour laws. Reviews and maintains existing policies, updates legislatives and organizational changes inluding but not limited to; Pay Equity, AODA, workplace violence, discrimination and harassment prevention policy. Prepares presentations, training material and ensures all salaried and hourly completion.

 15%    Recognition program/Volunteerism: Chairperson of the Well done committee, responsible for the selection and ordering of merchandise for the well done program, marketing the program for stakeholders.  Active member of various committee, i.e. including but not limited to , cafeteria committee, Service awards and luncheon, organize and execute celebrations, fundraising committee and Cargill contributer. Point of contact for Volunteerism in the facility, Ronald McDonald House and United Way.

5%     Administration/Project Work: responsible for department filing, ordering supplies/forms, answering phone calls, data entry/tracking, printing and posting of seniority lists. Leads and assists in various projects or initiatives.  

5%     Other Administrative/HR projects and duties as required
 
Required:
  • Designation from Canadian Payroll Association as certified Payroll Manager
  • Degree/Certification in HR, Business or related field
  • 5 years of work experience in Payroll, Human Resources or related field
  • Demonstrated leadership skills - Ability to inspire, motivate, educate and empower others in a positive and productive team environment.
  • Strong communication and people skills with the ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Positive attitude and willingness to do what it takes to deliver exceptional results.
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise discretion and diplomacy when dealing with confidential and sensitive matters.
  • Demonstrated track record in promoting an inclusive environment and seeking ways to integrate differences.
  • Ability to work as a member of a team and independently as needed.
  • Must have computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
 
Preferred:
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Peoplesoft and Kronos experience
