Our client located in the London, ON region is in search of a Process Engineer to join their team on a permanent basis.
The Process Engineer is responsible for engineering support for current processes, with a particular focus on Paint processes and Automation. This will include applying lean principles to all facets of the manufacturing process; implementing plant/facility improvements (cell work layouts, process flow, plant layouts, time and motion studies, etc.); and contributing to scrap reduction and overall process efficiency improvements. Duties and Responsibilities:
• Assessing production lines to determine and implement process improvements
• Assist all Production Department implementing new tools and methods for work flow improvements
• Coordinate outside vendors and follow up on job status and compliance with specifications and time line for project accomplishment
• Implement plant improvements (cell work layouts, process flow, plant layouts, time and motion studies, etc.)
• Discussing and evaluating systems failures with technical and non-technical personnel
• Assist in the estimating process for engineering changes on current model programs
• Participate in APQP meetings and resolve quality/process issues (8D) in liaison with Quality Department
• Machines and equipment troubleshooting using PLC and other controls communication interface.
• Develop work instructions and operating procedures for equipment
• Train operators on new equipment, tooling, and processes
• Communicate effectively with all Team Members and Supervisors to relay information
Desired Education and Experience:
University degree in Mechanical or Electrical Manufacturing Engineering
Minimum of five years as an Engineer in a manufacturing facility
Experience with automated and manual paint lines
Experience in programming and troubleshooting problems with Fanuc RJ3 and ABB 6 axis robots
Experience in programming Allen Bradley SLC 500 series PLC, Siemens PLC’s
Process engineering experience in thermoforming of PVC or TPO materials
