RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Implement IHSA- COR safety program

• Conduct safety audits

• Investigate health-and-safety-related complaints and workplace accidents

• Inspect workplaces to ensure that equipment, materials and production processes do not present a safety or health hazard to employees or the general public

• Develop, implement and evaluate health and safety programs and strategies

• Assist with the development and assessment of safe work practices and job hazard analyses

• Conduct and document project health, safety, and environment inspections and submit to the project management team

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) designation

• Excellent computer skills including MS Office suite of products, including MS Project

• Ability to learn and expand knowledge base for greater performance and productivity

• Punctual, meticulous and reliable

• Ideally the candidate will have completed or is in a position to complete a post secondary education in OHS

• 2 years experience in related industry

• Working knowledge of construction processes and terminology

• Effective communication and presentation skills

• Experience managing potentially difficult situations regarding site safety

• Effective working knowledge of applicable safety legislation
