Job Description

ZTR Control Systems is currently looking for a Project Manager to join the Rail Division. In this position you will be responsible for managing projects, budgets, schedules and priorities of global customer programs and internal development projects, while working closely with the engineering teams.

On most days, you’ll be managing our client’s projects or internal projects and larger programs.  You’ll also be focused on building lasting relationships with our client’s, working with them to craft a solution that’s customized for them and one that builds on ZTR’s reputation in our respective industries.

Responsibilities
Senior Project Management 80%
 
  • Project planning, prioritization, scheduling, goal setting and executing the day-to-day management of our client and internal development projects.
  • Main point of contact for both client and internal team members
  • Manage, Lead and Mentor project teams
  • Participate in methodology design, review and implementation with functional leaders
  • Preparing project plans and documentation
  • Identifying and acquiring the appropriate quantity and mix of resources required
  • Ensuring management of critical dependencies, critical path and project deliverables and act as the point of escalation for project issues and risks
  • Understanding the business and technical implementation choice points and facilitate decisions that drive optimal project outcomes
  • Managing the technical and commercial constraints of the project
  • Taking ownership and be accountable for the delivery of all projects to scope, schedule and budget
  • Prepare and communicate project status, governance, updates to sales and clients, as required
  • Develop technical application solutions to changing customer requirements
Account Management and Business Strategy 20%
 
  • Participate in and Drive Business Plan Strategies and Tactics as a member of the senior management team
  • Assist the Engineering, Business Development and Sales teams in drafting and issuing proposals, budgets and scheduling.
  • Assist with Sales presentations and client visits.
  • Resolving client day to day issues and keeping things on track for our clients with the support of ZTR’s teams.
  • Responsible for the onboarding of new client programs
  • Act a point person to customer issues, building strong customer relations.

Qualifications
 
  • Technically proficient (i.e. Engineer, Technologist). Background in electrical, computer engineering would be an asset
  • Minimum 5 years experience
  • Experience with Project Management. PMP Certification is an asset
  • Proven leadership skills – positive attitude, persuasive, innovative, encouraging and motivating
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build and manage strong team dynamics and work with complex cross-functional teams
  • Proven ability to drive project to successful completion, as well as the ability to set and manage priorities judiciously
  • Strong customer management skills
  • Exceptionally self-motivated, directed and detail-oriented
  • Ability to read and understand engineering documents and contracts
  • Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint and scheduling software
  • Ability to perform presentations to clients
  • Occasional travel required
