Logistics and Packaging Specialist

Job Description

Aisin Canada is a Japanese auto parts manufacturer located in Stratford, Ontario.  We produce parts for the Toyota Corolla, RAV4 and Lexus in a bright, climate controlled facility.  We are committed to continuous improvement and training our employees so they can reach their full potential.  We are currently seeking a Packaging/Logistics Specialist. This is a permanent full time position.

Position Summary

Responsible for internal/external logistics; all customs related issues; control of packaging requirements from initial concept, procurement to maintaining, tracking and resolving all packaging related issues

Position Responsibilities

 - Monitor all internal and external logisitics
 - Work with carriers to resolve any issues
 - Set up pick-ups and deliveries for miscellaneous shipments from current carriers and UPS/Fed-Ex parcels
 - Negotiate window times for customer/supplier deliveries
 - Visual control of all in/out bound shipments
 - Work with supervisors to kaizen shipping and receiving area, ensure safe dock systems are intact, ensure forklift fleet maintenance
 - Create customs docs as required
 - Keep NAFTA certification up to date
 - Work towards C-TPAT compliance
 - Work with our customs broker on any customs issues
 - Packaging, creat PPF's for customers, work with suppliers to develp PPF's
 - Work with other departments to develop packaging, calculate out requirements, and secure multiple quotations to procure, monitor and maintain all packaging related issues
 - Cover for shipping and receiving clerk as required
 - Essential Skills and ExperiencePrevious experience with packaging design is required
 - Good knowledge of logistics, understanding of customs requirements to ensure ACI is compliant to regulations
 - Experience in a shipping/receiving role in an automotive setting
 - Excellent time management and problem solving skils
 - Experience in an automotive JIT production setting


Beneficial Skills and Experience

 - Previous experience in a production control role is a definite asset
 - Ability to build excellent customer/supplier relationships
 - Knowledge of Microsoft Excel considered an asset


Education/Training/Certifications

RequiredForklift training, coaching and mentoring skills, problem solving techniques, transportation of dangerous goods certificate, first aid and CPR considered an asset
