Technical Support Representative - Part time and Full time positions available!
 
Hours of Work:  We are currently recruiting for part time or full time representatives for our call centre in Woodstock. The Technical Support department is a 24 x 7 operation. You must be available to work a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends, midnight and holidays and possibly split shifts. Your scheduled hours will be determined in conjunction with the customer service needs of the Technical Support Team.
 
Position Overview:  As a Technical Support Representative, you will provide friendly, courteous, accurate, and timely assistance in a call centre setting to Residential and Corporate customers. You will perform technical support to help resolve issues arising from Windows, MAC, TCP/IP, networking, telephones, and Cable TV. You must have a good understanding of Internet structures and processes (including but not limited to dialup, DSL, cable, wireless, email, web browsing, TCP/IP, DNS, POP3, SMTP, DHCP, FTP, etc). You must also have a positive and empathetic attitude that includes patience, dedication and commitment.
 
To succeed as a Technical Support Representative you have the following skills:
  • Superior customer service and relationship management skills
  • Exceptional telephone etiquette
  • Ability to work well independently with minimal supervision, while effectively managing multiple tasks
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize, multi-task and be flexible to take on varied responsibilities
  • Strategic and conceptual thinker, using a consultative approach as you identify problems and recommend resolutions
  • Good judgment to proactively and independently solve problems and make decisions
  • Ability to handle (difficult) customer situations and knowledge of when to further escalate by opening tickets
Qualifications
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a technical support, call centre environment
  • Post-secondary education in a computer-related environment specifically CCENT (Cisco Certified Entry Level Network technician) a definite asset
  • Working knowledge of the MAC and Windows Operating System (OS-10.x and up, Windows 98, XP, Vista, 7)
  • Working knowledge of the internet related protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, POP and SMTP, IMAP, FTP)
  • Experience with the following programs: Internet Explorer, Netscape, Safari and Mozilla Fire Fox as well as Outlook Express, Microsoft Outlook, Thunderbird, Mac Mail
  • A strong understanding of networking protocols (OSI model, Open Systems Interconnection Model)
  • Proficiency with Windows, Mac OS and Linux Family (Server)
  • Proficiency with Cisco Router and switches (all series)
  • Strong  understanding of domains and DNS
  • Good understanding of all basic Execulink products and services and how to troubleshoot
  • Must be flexible to work any shift including evenings, midnights, weekends and holidays and possibly split shifts
  • Must be fluent in English (oral and written)
  • Must have valid G2 driver’s license
