As the Quality Assurance Supervisor you will ensure that the facility and all of the processes meet the food safety and quality standards with an emphasis on food safety, people safety, sanitation, productivity, environmental awareness and customer satisfaction. This position is directly responsible for ensuring day-to-day safe and efficient management of the quality systems and stakeholders within the facility. This individual is responsible for leading, coaching, training and the development of the Quality Technicians.


Principle Accountabilities:

Food Safety and Quality Systems Management – verification and/or maintenance of HACCP and prerequisite programs, raw materials, manufacturing processes, plant environment, and finished product. Collaborate with Operations on the initiation of corrective action and preventative measures when necessary. Ensures adherence to Corporate, Governmental and FSSC22K, and Customer food safety/quality and animal handling requirements. Participation and preparation for plant tours and audits

Stakeholder Development and Supervision – oversees the hourly QA stakeholders and ensures that the department is properly scheduled, staffed and trained to handle the daily needs. Coaching and developing the hourly QA Stakeholders to build a talent within the department. Deliver disciplinary or performance discussions with stakeholders, while maintaining awareness of our Collective Agreement. Ensuring that all stakeholders are working safely

Other projects – assisting the plan in various projects relating to Safety, Food Safety, Environment, Food



Required:

 
  • Post-secondary diploma
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience
  • General knowledge of HACCP
  • Strong computer skills
  • Ability to deal with conflict effectively
  • Communication skills both verbal and written
  • Safety, Process Improvement, Engagement, Training etc.
  • Ability to work in a cold setting
  • Ability to work 45 hours a week or more
  • Ability to work rotating shifts
  • Legally entitled to work for Cargill Canada on a non-temporary basis.

Preferred Qualifications

 
  • University degree in Microbiology, Food Science, Biology or other related field
  • 5 + Years of related experience
  • Experience in a Food manufacturing
