Legal Recoveries Representative

Job Summary
The Legal Recoveries Representative will utilize their strong negotiation skills to maximize recoveries on accounts and provide input for litigation as required. The Legal Recoveries Representative is a strong operationally focused individual who is responsible for managing a portfolio of customer accounts. They are the liaison between multiple departments including Default Management, Customer Experience, and Corporate Legal Compliance. 

The successful candidate will be responsible for the administration of the receipt and distribution of outgoing and incoming calls, record keeping, and process management of consumer files. The Legal Recoveries Representative escalates non-payee accounts for Legal processing. They contact customers to negotiate appropriate payment resolution. The Legal Recoveries Representative also works collaboratively with other departments to develop and/or enhance processes for managing of new portfolios.

What does a typical day look like?
  • Initiate outbound calls and receive incoming client calls
  • Recover outstanding balances on accounts, utilizing company collection methodologies
  • Confirm accuracy of client information, including ownership of residence and place of employment
  • Analyze client information to maximize recoveries and provide input for litigation
  • Skip tracing for finding debtors with no contact information
  • Maintain accurate and updated file notes for ongoing history and referencing
  • Consult with and/or co-ordinate activities with other employees of the organization
  • Identify opportunities for innovation within collection team 
  • Other duties as assigned

What qualifications are required for this position?
  • Minimum six months collection experience
  • Excellent telephone, negotiation and interpersonal skills
  • Self-motivated, self-managed and a team player
  • Professional communication skills with an ability to problem solve
  • Efficient time management capability
  • Strong work ethic to achieve goals and business targets
  • Basic understanding of legal process is considered an asset
  • Ability to work shifts within business hours, including some evenings and weekends

What type of scheduling does Canaccede Financial Group offer?
This permanent full-time role requires shift flexibility during hours of operation (Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 7:00 PM, Saturday 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM).
