Report to:
The NRAWP Youth Supervisor will be an employee of the South London Neighbourhood Resource Centre (SLNRC). Day-to-day supervision/consultation will be provided by the Manager of Neighbourhood Community Development-Westminster in the form of formal supervision meetings as well as informal support as requested.

Position overview:
The Supervisor will lead the successful delivery of the CORE services "Neighbourhood Child, Youth and Family Centres" in relation to Youth Voice/ Youth Expression, Youth Programs and Employment Readiness for the Westminster area under the umbrella of NRAWP.
Qualifications:
Social Service Worker Diploma, Child and Youth Worker Diploma, Social Work Degree, or Sociology Degree. Or equivalent social services education in relation to the job posting.
Commitment:
This is a full-time contract position for (37.5hrs/week for 12 weeks (closed summer, March Break and Christmas) that will include working the occasional weekend; confirmed until March 31, 2022. Continuation of position is probable but number of hours per week may be reduced depending on funders.
Salary:
$19/hr

Child/ Youth Programming
- Establish, deliver and maintain Youth Voice/ Youth Expression (Youth Council, Youth lead events, support Youth Volunteers), Youth Programs (Afterschool drop-ins, Youth Chef, March Break, Homework Help, Drama, Arts and Music) and Employment Readiness programs (Study Night); either in-person or virtually.
- Through a community development approach, provide outreach to enhance local youth programs in the area.
- Apply for and manage all youth program grants that build on existing youth services in Westminster.
- Participate in youth service provider related information meetings and skills building opportunities as directed by supervisor.
- Support appropriate additional innovative youth grants and partnerships when appropriate.
- Maintain all appropriate supplies and equipment for the NRAWP youth centre and its programs.
- Maintain repairs to youth equipment.
- Maintain accurate data collection and meet all reporting deadlines with all youth related funders.
- Support communication with all youth related activities and ensure every effort is made to make sure all supplies and equipment are appropriate and in good working order.
- Provide youth support and referral to the most appropriate community services.
- Support the referral to Jumpstart applications for the White Oaks/Westmount/Westminster communities and additional neighbourhoods as needed
- Leadership, strong organizational, and time management skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills as well as verbal and written communication skills
- Experience with report writing, maintaining statistics, and fundraising
- Capacity to build relationships with youth, parents, community members, and
- Proven ability to work with youth of diverse and ethnic/cultural backgrounds
- Motivated, self-starter and able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Capacity to work independently as well as within a multidisciplinary team
- Proficiency with Microsoft office, email, and some knowledge of database entry
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Clearance through a Vulnerable populations police screening process (at own cost)
- Current CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain at own cost)
- Responsible, trustworthy, approachable and friendly
- Ability to work with a diverse population
