Are you an MS Excel, SQL, and SAS expert with previous experience handling reporting, automation, and process improvement activities? Do you have experience working in the insurance or banking industry? Are you looking for an opportunity to further develop your skills in a leading corporate environment? If so, we have an excellent opportunity for you! We are currently looking for an Senior Financial Analyst to support our client, a globally recognized insurance firm, in their Waterloo office.

In this role you will work full time hours on a 6 month assignment (with a possibility for extension), and earn a competitive rate within the industry. As an Senior Financial Analyst you will mainly be focusing on producing sales reports on a periodic basis, as well as helping to enhance the team's current processes. This will include but not be limited to:

• Prepare and review monthly/quarterly insurance reports and analysis
• Effectively and efficiently synthesize large volumes of data from multiple sources into meaningful comprehensions to facilitate data-driven decisions
• Work closely with business partners to develop effective reporting and analysis of sales results and timely management deliverables within tight timeline
• Consistently review reporting practices and develop controls to enhance the integrity of sales reporting
• Completion of industry surveys and external benchmarking reporting including LIMRA and Investor Economics monthly, quarterly and annually
• Identify and implement process improvements through an understanding of systems, tools and processes used to complete the sales reporting requirements
• Play a key role in driving department projects and initiatives to completion through coordinating with multiple teams, creating project plans and ensuring action items are executed
• Provide responses to business partners' inquiries that includes but not limit to analyzing data/reports, performing ad-hoc analysis and working with various teams until solutions are formulated or issues are fully resolved
• Ensure documentations for sale metric definition and reporting processes is well maintained

Qualifications
• Professional accounting designation (CPA,CA or CPA,CMA or CPA,CGA) with a related university degree. A minimum of 7 years’ experience, preferably at a senior level
• A successful track record in identifying trends and drawing insights through synthesizing large volumes of data
• Excellent problem solving and analytical skills with attention to detail
• A quick learner and able to work independently with minimal supervision
• Strong operational expertise in reporting and systems competencies with a focus on continual process improvement and the ability to leverage automation to ensure efficient and effective operational processes
• Ability to organize, prioritize and make decisions that require innovative thinking in a fast paced environment
• Excellent communication and project management skills
• Self-motivated and capable of handling conflicting priorities in a dynamic and changing environment
• Expert working knowledge of Microsoft Excel (including Power Query and Power Pivot), Microsoft Access and Tableau

Assets
• Knowledge of Individual Wealth and Insurance products and distribution channels.
• Knowledge of SAS EG and SQL a plus
