Job Description

Position Summary
Responsible to maintain operation of the facility, production equipment and programming for maximum uptime while maintaining a perspective of budget, safety, quality and future requirements. 
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Maintains plant equipment to produce quality parts.
  • Assists in plans and scheduling for facilities modifications including cost estimates, bid sheets, layouts, and contracts for repairs and acquisitions.
  • Troubleshoots and repairs plant equipment with either controls or mechanical issues.
  • Troubleshoots and repairs robots with either controls or mechanical issues
  • Responsible for robotic programming of plant assets.
  • Supports PM system to accommodate 100% on time compliance
  • Reduce plant downtime by performing equipment PM, repairs and upgrades to both machinery and robots
  • Orders and maintains the maintenance area by keeping it stocked with proper supplies for daily operations.
  • Suggests process improvements.
  • Participates in continuous improvement efforts.
  • Installs, starts up, and shuts down equipment in accordance with company safety procedures for machine activation and shutdown and in line with OHSA requirements.
  • Advises operators of operation procedures and requirements for working safely with electrical/electronic and mechanical equipment and components.
  • Informs appropriate management of potential electrical/mechanical problems and inherent dangers involved.

Required Competencies, Skills and Experience
  • Previous work experience in plastic injection-molding environment
  • Previous work experience in automotive industry
  • Working knowledge and understanding of robotic technology
  • Working knowledge and understanding of pneumatic, hydraulic, PLC and CNC technology
  • Excellent communication skills with all levels of personnel whether individually or in a team environment,
  • Ability to interface and communicate with line operators in order to assist with repairs and troubleshooting.
  • Must be highly safety conscious.
  • Confident working with computers.
     
    Education and Job Experience Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Associates or Bachelor’s degree in technical field, preferred.
  • At least 3 years’ experience in a manufacturing maintenance capacity.
     
     
     
    Work Environment and Physical Demands
  • The position requires the ability to work in non-climate controlled plant areas and climate controlled office areas.
  • This position is exposed to noisy plant areas, and forklift traffic.
  • This position requires the ability to walk on concrete floors, lift up to 30 pounds, perform repetitive keystrokes on a continual basis, and occasionally bend, kneel, twist, and reach.
