Job Description
Located in the beautiful town of St. Marys, Ontario the Stone Willow Inn is an independent hotel offering 25 rooms and suites ideal for the corporate traveler, the festival visitor, wedding groups, couples looking for some time alone or families with children. We are looking for a dynamic individual to join our team as the Front Desk Manager (FDM). Please note this is a working FDM position.

Reporting to the General Manager, you are responsible:
- For the effective and efficient operation of the Front Desk while maintaining a professional and high quality guest service oriented environment at all times
- To manage all bookings ensuring efficiency in room allocation and inventory management
- For creating/maintaining schedules for all Front Desk and Housekeeping staff including managing all sick calls or tardiness by finding proper coverage, report to work and stay until proper coverage can be found
- To provide leadership/supervision to all employees including recruitment, onboarding, training coaching and disciplining as needed making sure they adhere to our standards of excellence
- For insuring proper settlement of all in house guest folios; effective handling of guest complaints
- To be aware and able to enforce all fire-life-safety procedures and for crisis management
- For managing operating expenses and purchasing and bookkeeping related to
- To make suggestions for improvements in overall operations with an emphasis on increasing guest satisfaction, revenues as well as reducing costs
- To manage all other administrative duties as delegated by the General Manager
- Hospitality management (hotel) degree or certificate
- Minimum two years hotel experience, would be preferred
- Demonstrated supervisory skills
- Good judgment and common sense
- Computer literate with knowledge of a variety of computer software applications, including the Microsoft Office Suite
- Superior written and oral communication skills
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to set priorities for self and others
