Liquid Bulk Carrier- Windsor
 
Our client Gorski Bulk Transport, www.gorskibulk.com seeks a highly experienced Recruiter for their Head Office located in Oldcastle, to recruit and train Drivers for its three locations- Windsor, Detroit and Mississauga. You will be responsible for: recruiting, hiring, on boarding and retention of drivers and owner operators so as to maintain a driver base at a ratio of 11 drivers for every 10 company trucks. You will use all your skills and knowledge, particularly cross border regulations, practices and required paperwork, knowledge of highway trucking, and associated rules and regulations.
 
Primary Job Responsibilities:
 
  • Recruit, qualify and hire quality OTR drivers on an ongoing basis.
  • Solicit, qualify, sign and retain an ongoing supply of owner operators in order to meet the company's fleet expansion goals.
  • Determine and use most effective medium (publications, social media and web postings) for owner operator and company driver recruiting, based on past results or experience of others.
  •    Maintain working knowledge of qualified driver requirements to assure qualified candidates are selected.
  • Monitor and assist new driver and owner operator orientation into company operations during their career orientation and on-boarding to the company.
  • Participate in periodic driver meetings for safety, training and communications.
  • Participate in defining and implementing training programs for new drivers and owner-operators.
  • Maintain communications and rapport with all drivers and owner operators to lessen turnover rate and aid in retention.
  • Assist in conducting MVR investigations and background checks of applicants passing initial screening.
  • Assist in ensuring applicants have current DOT physicals, driver's licenses, drug screens and other required tests or screens.
 
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Community College Diploma Preferred
  • CHRP is useful
  • Industry experience is helpful
  • Requires very good interpersonal skills; the ability to "read" people accurately and draw them out during an interview.
  • Must be able to make decisions based on our criteria as well as drawing on their own knowledge of the tangibles and intangibles that make a quality driver.
  • Able to travel to recruit drivers and owner operators for all of company’s operations.
  • Able to clearly communicate both concepts and technical training for the position.
  • Must have extensive computer knowledge and skills

  • Bilingualism is an asset
