Opportunity

OES Inc. has a full time opportunity for a highly motivated individual who has a solid background in mechanical engineering and experience with machining processes.

The CNC Programmer is part of the Engineering team at OES and is responsible for maintaining and developing programing for machining operations.  The CNC Programmer will write and implement programming with a focus on improving efficiency of production as well as the quality of finished OES products.  The ideal candidate is a goal-oriented self-starter who is focused and enjoys working in a fast-paced environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Designs products from early concept to manufacturing
  • Reviews customer specifications with the sales team
  • Develops programs, tooling and fixtures for a 4-Axis Vertical Machining Centre
  • Design, fabricate and test prototypes
  • Create product part lists and manufacturing instructions
  • Design testing procedures, conduct tests and document results
  • Investigate, analyze and document identified product defects
  • Interface directly with other departments within the organization as well as vendors and end customers
  • Assure adherence to appropriate regulatory agencies and industry standards (ISO, OSHA, UL, Military, etc.)
  • Support OES Quality Programs through creation of technical documentation related to products
  • Support Operators with day-to-day operations
  • Provide customer support for products
  • Provide assistance to CNC Operator(s) in setting up new programs
 
Qualifications
  • A diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technician, Technologist or related program
  • Experience working in Mechanical Engineering or related area
  • Ability to edit existing programs as well as test new programming
  • Exposure to or experience with 3D design (AutoCAD Inventor is preferred)
  • Exposure to or experience machining processes
  • Exposure to or experience with mold design for plastic parts
  • Exposure to or experience with CAM Software (Mastercam is preferred)
  • Experience troubleshooting mechanical equipment
  • Good analytical skills
  • Demonstrated aptitude in reading and interpreting blueprints, diagrams, schematics, drawings, manuals, and specifications.
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects
  • Flexible attitude, ability to perform under tight deadlines
  • A commitment to quality and a thorough approach to the work
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work as a member of a multidisciplinary team
