Pay
 
$ 12.00 per hour – 37.5 hours per week
 
The St. Joseph’s Health Care Society oversees two hospices that operate in Southwestern Ontario. One is located in London-Middlesex and the other in Sarnia-Lambton.
 
The Society has retained the services of a management consultant to conduct a number of projects.
 
One of these projects involves the creation of an appropriate and effective
framework of human resources policies and procedures.
 
Currently, both hospices have a number of human resources policies and procedures in place. A review of these policies and procedures is required in order to:
 
Ensure the policies are current and complete,
Confirm each site’s human resources policies fully comply with all provincial statutory requirements;
Serve the governance duties of each Hospice’s Board of Directors,
Permit senior administrators at each site to fulfill their role and duties to effectively manage human resources,
Provide employees at each hospice with a policy and procedure framework of is accessible, accurate and instills confidence that their needs and interests are being met, and,
Successfully meet and enhance the respective mission, vision and values of the organization.
 
 
 
Key Deliverable(s)
 
Conduct a review of all human resources policies and procedures for each hospice and put together a report that:
 
Identifies any gaps or shortcomings in the human resources policies and procedures at either site,
Recommends or indicates what revisions or amendments are required to each sites human resources and procedures, and,
Identifies and drafts any human resources policies and procedures required at either site.
 
Required Skills and Experience
 
Strong research and report writing skills
Educational training or background in human resources management
Ability to be flexible
Effective communication skills
 
Term of Employment
 
June 30 to August 31, 2015
 
Supervision
 
Daily supervision will be to the Society’s Management Consultant
Overall supervision will be under the direction of the Society’s Executive Director
 
Skills and Experience
 
This opportunity is ideally suited to a university student currently enrolled in or who has recently completed a program of studies related to human resources management or social work.
