Job Description
Position Title: Senior Business Analyst
TechAlliance empowers London and Southwestern Ontario’s technology sector. We prepare today’s entrepreneurs to launch new ventures, provide education and networking opportunities to accelerate business growth for small-to-medium enterprises, and serve our 170+ members as advocates for the region’s thriving technology, life sciences and advanced manufacturing companies.
We are currently seeking a talented individual to join our Business Services team as the Senior Business Analyst. As the Senior Business Analyst, you will be part of a team working closely with entrepreneurs of start-up and early stage technology companies.
Reporting to the Manager, Business Services, you will work with other analysts and Entrepreneurs-in-Residence to support organic growth of companies in London and the surrounding communities.
Core Responsibilities
- Provide guidance to our clients with respect to developing business plans and their constituent components, such as business propositions, market analysis and strategies, competition analysis, operations, finances, etc.
- Provide business analysis to assist clients with development of a business model.
- Assist clients in developing specific tools to grow their business, such as cash flow projections, marketing plans, presentations/pitch decks, etc.
- Assist in identifying and accessing sources of funding/grants, including government programs and private sector investors, business plan competitions, etc.
- Provide ongoing support to the Manager, Business Services, Entrepreneurs-in-Residence and other analysts and team members.
- Manage communication with active client base and serve as the main point of contact between clients and the Business Services team.
- Assist with the recruitment of new clients by attending events and workshops in a business development capacity. This will involve working outside of the regular 9-5 hours.
- Stay abreast of current developments in various technology industries.
- Other responsibilities assigned as needed.
Qualifications and Minimum Requirements
- Undergraduate degree or diploma in business or technology
- 2 to 3 years of prior business experience
- Proven ability to assess business opportunities quickly and efficiently
- Demonstrated leadership abilities
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written
- A good working knowledge of software programs and applications
- Strong organizational and analytical skills
- Ability to provide guidance and direction
- Energy, enthusiasm, and confidence in one’s abilities
- Willing to work outside the typical 9-5 business hours
Assets
- Previous experience as an entrepreneur, or in an entrepreneurial environment
- Graduate degree in business or technology
- Knowledge and experience with patents, technology transfer and regulatory (FDA, Health Canada)
- Knowledge of Client Relationship Management (CRM) programs (i.e. SalesForce)
- Previous experience in the technology sector
The term of the position will be two (2) years, with the possibility for renewal.
