Senior Financial Analyst
 
 
Position responsibilities include: 
  • Advance our understanding of performance by improving the internal management reporting system.
  • Improve reporting instruments by assisting in standardizing the existing Costar information platform.
  • Support expansion plans and integration process to ensure that service is delivered in a seamless and effective manner.
  • Develop performance insight by working with the operations team to master the Key Performance Information platform.
  • Facilitate margin management efforts by updating vendor fund reporting and providing guidance to senior management.
  • Prepare monthly reports as required by GM for supplier programs.
  • Provide ongoing stewardship on insurance, banking and working capital activities.
  • Streamline the budgeting process by working with the Senior Management Team on quarterly updates to the financial forecast.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly financial reporting by learning internal processes that generate significant GL transactions, by reconciling these key GL accounts and recommending changes to process as required.
  • Participate in the maximization of EBITDA by working with senior management in the identification of areas that require process improvement, the implementation of process change and the generation of internal control steps within each process.
  • Ensure the validation of reporting systems by participating with external audit teams and satisfying all audit requests.
 
Qualities we seek:
  • Advanced standing of an accounting designation (CPA) preferred.
  • A Business Degree from an accredited College/University preferred.
  • 3 years experience in a similar position.
  • A positive/supportive customer service and team focussed approach.
  • Superior interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to establish priorities and set goals.
  • Effective time management and organizational skills to meet strict timelines as well as flexibility to adapt to changing priorities.
  • Detail and results driven with the ability to prioritize effectively and multi-task.
  • Proficient skills in mathematics and Microsoft Office.
  • Experience in a retail environment would be an asset.
