Controller – 14 month fixed term covering a Maternity Leave

We are now seeking a Controller to join our Finance Team on a 14 month contract to cover an upcoming maternity leave. This is an excellent opportunity for the right individual to enhance and develop accounting proficiency in a modern and growing manufacturing environment.

Position Responsibilities:

• Manage the Accounting functions for the facility, supervising the Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable staff.
• The accurate and timely completion of all facets of the daily and monthly reporting systems for the plant including payroll, standard cost, billing, and payables plus accounts receivable and collections.
• The timely preparation and interpretation of the monthly financial statements of the plant, with the responsibility of meeting time tables.
• Preparation of the audit package and to act as primary liaison between the Company and its’ external auditors.
• Prepare, in co-operation with facility staff, forecast of operations including sales, cost variances and all asset and liability changes.
• Operate the department within budget, and achieve pre-determined working capital and cash flow objectives.

Necessary skills and qualifications:

• Excellent organizational, analytical, problem solving and interpersonal skills.
• Strong fundamental accounting skills with the ability to provide prompt and accurate information, forecasts, and monthly reports, as well as strong verbal and written communication skills.
• An appropriate designation as a Certified General or Management Accountant, or Chartered Accountant (CGA, CMA, CPA) or working towards such designation.
• Strong time management skills with the ability to effectively balance changing priorities.
• Computer proficiency in a Windows environment (Excel, Access), and experience with typical ERP Software systems.
• Several years of progressive experience in an appropriate accounting role in a manufacturing environment as well as relevant post-secondary education.

This position is full time temporary with a competitive compensation and benefit package. The position will start as soon as possible and is based in London, Ontario.
