Under the direction of the General Manager at our Dorchester Terrace Retirement Residence, this position will be responsible for providing leadership and expertise in maintaining the Business Office functions and its staff.

Responsibilities Include:

• Processing and reporting payroll, benefits administration and maintaining all employee and resident business records for the facility.
• Monitoring and reporting budgetary expenditures and A/R, A/P and Administrative costs for monthly analysis.
• Prioritizing, organizing and executing all administrative functions within the established deadlines
• Coordinating and supervising all reception staff activities and routines to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.
• Acting in the capacity of Receptionist as needed
• Interacting with supplier partner to ensure effective and efficient utilization of Residence communications equipment.
• Planning and adhering to facility VIP standards as they pertain to the guidelines.
• Working independently and as part of the leadership team.
• Processing resident billing and all move in contracts.

Experience & Qualifications:

• Experience performing accounting and administrative functions, preferably within a healthcare or retirement residence setting
• Problem solving skills to effectively and inclusively analyze probe and explore options in resolving issues – strong accuracy and attention to detail.
• Prior supervisory experience including recruitment, and performance management of staff. 
• Strong team member philosophy and ability to work independently in a fast paced work environment. 
• Effective organizational, prioritization, and multi-tasking skills to address issues and problems of a systematic nature to improve performance
• Above average computer skills, including Word and Excel, as well as strong technological aptitude.
• Effective communication skills to listen and articulate information enhancing exceptional customer experience 
• Understanding the legislated mandates of the Retirement Homes Act and regulations with a commitment to the values, goals and objectives of the Company.
