Salford Group is currently seeking a reliable person to work as a General Labourer in our Norwich, Ontario facility.  The General Labourer reporting to Lead Hand and/or Supervisor and will be responsible for general labour for agricultural equipment, including operating machinery and assisting in a variety of departments.

JOB DUTIES
  • Read, understand, and follow job order specifications, engineering drawings (blueprints), and/or work orders.
  • Work in a variety of areas depending on demand
  • New fabrications, repairs, custom fabrication, and structural construction
  • Operate punch press, brake press, lathe, saws, and other related metal forming and cutting equipment
  • Operate small hand tools, slings, grinders, cutting torch, and other hand tools related to the jobs needs
  • Load and unload trailers
  • Move materials within the warehouse
  • Ensure equipment and tools are in good working condition, reporting maintenance services when required
  • Check output to ensure highest quality
  • Report on issues, malfunction or defective parts
  • Must work in accordance with Health & Safety regulations, Company rules, policies and procedures
  • Other duties as assigned by the lead hand

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
  • Experience operating machinery and knowledge of advanced manufacturing techniques such as Kanban, Lean, and 5S would be considered an asset
  • Must be able to read and understand blueprints
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs
  • Ability to use hand tools and power tools
  • Maintain clean work areas and equipment
  • Operate machinery and heavy equipment
  • Must be organized, proactive, and maintain a positive attitude in the work place
  • Ability to work independently and in a team setting
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Other duties as assigned by the lead hand

Days Monday to Friday, 42 hour/week
Nights Monday to Thursday, 42 hours/week
